FILM FEST
INTERVIEW WITH Andrea Siciliano
INTERVIEW WITH Andrea Siciliano by Italian Luxury
How long have you been doing movies?
I have been making films for 15 years.
How did you decide to start making movies?
I started attending a television directing school in Milan and that's how I started working in the entertainment field. Then in 2008 I went to the academy of film entertainment at Cinecittà in Rome.
Why did you do this project?
Initially, I was encouraged to collaborate with my friend director Roberto Bramuzzo to make a new, unreleased and original TV program on SKY channels. But of course there was something missing in these TV episodes, the cinematic method of which the short film was born.
(If you can say). How much budget did you have to do this project?
The project is experimental, with no budget.
Was it self-funded or did you get budget/producers/investors?
The only producer was Andrea Siciliano, in minimal expenses. The project is without budget.
How long did it take from the initial idea to being able to release?
2 years after the award in Los Angeles.
Are you happy with the result?
Yes.
What phase is this project in right now?
And completed.
Are you in the initial phase of sending it to festivals, middle phase or finishing the circuit?
In the initial stage.
How has your experience been with the festivals so far?
Excellent!!! I have one award, 8 festivals in attendance, including 4 for the Oscars 2025.
Where do you think they should improve?
I should improve in everything. I am never satisfied.
Normally, filmmakers use many references, favorite directors, favorite movies, etc. Were you inspired by any director or film?
If so, tell us your references. I don't have any references to professionals in cinema, because in every film there is always something I don't like or would do differently. So I have my own world of filmmaking.
Your favorite movie?
Marvel movies.
Favorite series?
Nobody.
Do you see yourself making movies in 5 years?
Of course! Even before that!
Where do you see yourself?
With a big Oscar award!
Do you have any other project in mind?
YES! Many!
What do you ask for the future? (cinematographically speaking)
That I am not limited financially in projects, so I can give my all, unleashing all the creative power I have.
Your best experience in a movie theater?
It has yet to arrive.
